VIP Shopping Spree Promotion with RedFM and Cork City Council
As part of our continued promotion of Cork City Centre, we are running a VIP Shopping Spree promotion next week (W/c 6th November) on RedFM.  The competition will air on Breakfast with Ray & Jay in the format of a treasure hunt throughout the city centre. On Saturday 11 November, the 5 qualifiers will meet Colm O Sullivan and the Red Patrollers  to compete for an overall prize which is valued at €2,500.  This will be presented by the Lord Mayor of Cork. This competition is being pre-promoted all of this week and next week. Businesses are asked to share this promotion with your customers, as we want to create as much excitement as possible about the VIP experience of shopping in Cork.


Customer Service Survey
We are hoping that you will engage with us by completing the survey below to give insights into a new initiative to develop a ‘Service Charter’ for the City of Cork that will be used as a reference point for excellent customer service well into the future. This initiative is in conjunction the Cork City Centre Forum, City Council, and the Masters of Business at the Department of OPD, School of Business.

North Main Street Traders

Cork Film Festival
Cork Film Festival is Ireland’s oldest film festival, loyally supported by Corkonians, and attracting visitors from all over Ireland and abroad, reflecting an unstinting curiosity, appetite and appreciation for the arts. This year it will be held from the 10th-19th November.

Cork and Kerry Market in Cork City Hall –4th November 2017
The Cork and Kerry region is renowned nationally and internationally for its high quality food produce.
The Cork & Kerry Food Market is a showcase of more than 70 local food producers all under one roof. This event offers the public a showcase of artisan produce from all over Cork and Kerry, with tastings and demonstrations of an incredible variety of food as well as cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs The Happy Pear, and SuperValu ambassador, Kevin Dundon.

Switching on of the Christmas Lights in Cork City
The countdown to Christmas has truly begun with the switching on of the Cork City Christmas Lights in the city. The lights will be switched in Cork City on Sunday November 19th. For more info click here

Purple Flag
The City Centre successfully retained its Purple Flag accreditation. This is an international accreditation for excellence in the evening and night time economy and was awarded following an overnight assessment by two independent assessors. See a short video on same here

Cork Science Festival
Cork Science Festival (10th-20th November 2017)
is a celebration of science events taking place this November.From 10th-19th November, experience our program of free public engagement events, open days, science tours, talks, exhibitions, shows, workshops and school visits.

Cork Chocolate Festival
The Cork Chocolate Festival & Baking World will take place at the Cork International Hotel from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th of November 2017. An exhibitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5.30pm.
The 2 day event which is being hosted in association with La Rousse Foods is the inaugural Chocolate Festival in Cork and the only one of it’s kind in Ireland.

Run in the Dark
Join The Mark Pollock Trust and thousands of fellow runners in Cork on 15th  November and support its ongoing research to find a cure for spinal cord injury. Take part in this unique multi location event and run in the dark for 5k or 10k. The  2017 Cork event will leave from St Patrick St at 9.00pm on the 15th  November.


Glow-A Cork Christmas Celebration returns on 1st December. Visit Santa’s Cork Workshop presented by Dowtcha Puppets in Bishop Lucey Park, soar high above Cork on a giant Ferris wheel and indulge in our festive food markets and festive entertainment galore on the Grand Parade this Christmas.
Glow will take place on

Friday 15th  to Sunday 17th December

The Ferris Wheel will open each day from 12 noon to 9pm* from Friday 1st December 2017 to Sunday 7th January 2018
